Cavan punter scoops €33k on €1 bet

Christmas came early for one lucky punter when their EuroMillions bet at a local bookmakers saw them scoop €33,000.

The bet, placed in one of BoyleSports' Cavan shops, came in just three days before December 25.
From just a stake of just €1, the holder picked four numbers 4, 6, 22 and 48 defying odds of 33,000/1 when they were drawn from the EuroMillions PlusDraw.
“We are thrilled to see yet another customer reap the rewards of our large lotto odds this close to Christmas,” Aoife Heffron, spokeswoman for BoyleSports said this week.
“The Cavan punter joins four other large winning lotto customers in December, who now have combined winnings of €78,800.”
She added: “It is an incredible windfall, €33,000 for a €1 lotto bet, to come to fruition just days before Christmas and we hope that it will make this festive season a very special one.”
Back in June another Cavan better won €16,500.50 for their 50 cent bet on four numbers, also on the EuroMillions PlusDraw.
