Antique coins and
medals stolen
A collection of antique coins and medals are among a list of items stolen during a burglary at a house near Cavan Town last week.
The property at Drumelis was broken into between June 16-18, after which it was discovered the antique items were missing, along with other valuables.
Meanwhile, gardaí investigating the theft of an oil burner from the rear of a property in West Cavan have appealed for witnesses.
The burner was stolen from the rear of a house in the Gubnaveeny area of Swanlinbar. The theft is believed to have occurred over the past month, and was only reported to gardaí in recent days.
Finally, gardaí are also appealing for information connected to the whereabouts of a vehicle, a blue coloured Ford Focus, registration 01 D... stolen from outside a house at Ard Na Laoi, Drumalee in the past week.
Anyone with information connected to any of the incidents is asked to contact Cavan Garda Station on 086- 1025748. As part of the Garda Summertime Safety Campaign, and in light of recent burglaries, gardaí are advising all home owners to ensure that all doors are locked specifically at night before going to bed.
