Taoiseach in Cavan tomorrow (Friday)

An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar will visit Cavan tomorrow (Friday) when he will turn the sod before works begin on developing the new Holy Family School in Cootehill.
The Taoiseach is expected to attend the new school site at around 1.30pm.
The project tender was successfully awarded in May, with a view to works starting in November.
The new campus is expected to be fully completed by June, 2020, providing state-of-the-art accommodation for the school’s 165 students and 110 staff including 29 teachers, 54 SNAs, 29 bus escorts, plus nurses, therapists and others.
In the interim new temporary prefabricated campus has been located on the site of the old Whelan’s Shoe Factory.
Part of a whistle-stop tour of the region, the Taoiseach is also expected to visit Bailieborough Community School.
He is also expected to visit the local Leisure Centre and Bailieborough Courthouse on Friday, October 12, at around midday.
Last year €370,000 was allocated to the Courthouse redevelopment project under PEACE IV; with a further €100,000 assigned under the REDZ programme.
Built in 1817, a feasibility study was carried out in 2016 by the Bailieborough Development Association regarding the prospect of restoring and renovating the courthouse as a community resource.
Later in the day, An Taoiseach is expected to attend several events in neighbouring Co Monaghan also.
The visit comes just days after the Government revealed details of its Budget for next year.
