Just under €15,000 was allocated to Men's Shed projects in Cavan in the last year. The Department of Rural and Community Development made the grants to a number of the Men’s Shed’s projects across the county to fund a range of activities.

Projects received funding ranging from €1,396 to €1,730. In Bailieborough the group were funded to allow for the upgrading of the shed, materials and tools. The Bawnboy Workhouse group funding sees them purchase a new saw to make bee-hives and stands for the bee-hives.

The Belturbet moneys allowed them to purchase a table saw and wood, while the Cavan Town group will install and supply computer equipment, printer and projector in office with their allocation.

Cavan Traveller Men's Shed will spend their grant on camping equipment, football equipment and handball equipment. The Cootehill group will upgrade polytunnel, purchase pre-treated timbers and tools for the work shop with their grant.
