One foreign investor looks to Cavan

Co Cavan has welcomed one site visit by a potential foreign investor considering establishing a base in the region.
That visit came in the first three months of this year.
Last year, just two such visits were facilitated over 12 months.
They accounted for just 0.3% of the overall 607 visits to the country by outside businesses in 2018.
Neighbouring Co Monaghan had three visits in total in 2018, and one to date in 2019.
In September 2017, an unnamed US-based pet food company examined an 81-acre, council-owned greenfield site east of Virginia town.
That site, however, will remain undeveloped, however, until a route for the proposed Virginia N3 Town bypass is finalised
Of the 159 visits to counties so in 2019, Leitrim and Longford have had none, and Meath has had one.
