A man in his 60's has been treated in hospital for “serious injuries” following a cow attack at a farm in the east of the county.
The incident occured at a farm near Bailieborough at around 12 midday yesterday, Tuesday, May 21.
Its understood the man was attacked by a cow, which resulted in him suffering “serious injuries”.
He was subsequently transported by air ambulance to Tallaght University Hospital.
A spokesperson for An Garda Siochana, who attended the scene and are investigating the matter along with the Health and Safety Authority.
“Gardaí attended an incident at a farm in Bailieboro, Co. Cavan which occurred at approx 12 midday on 21st May 2019. A male in his 60’s was attacked by a cow and received serious injuries. He was transported to Tallaght University Hospital, his injuries are not believed to be life threatening”, the garda spokesperson said in a statement issued to The Anglo-Celt.
