A deal to sell the former St Felim’s Hospital site near Cavan Town could be struck as soon as next month, The Anglo-Celt can reveal.

That’s according to the HSE, which owns the historic hospital and workhouse site, and informed this newspaper that since going to market towards the end of last month, the 11.32 acre property has been “attracting interest”.
“HSE Estates are liaising with the Estate Agent and it is envisaged that the sale process will be concluded in July,” a spokesperson for the health body said.
According to the council, “Both St Felim’s Hospital and the gate lodge and protected structures listed in the Cavan Town and Environs Development Plan 2014-20.”
The buildings date back to the 1840s, and the site incorporates gardens, courtyards and a former graveyard to the rear on lands locally known as ‘Bully’s Acre’.
