Ladies draw with Armagh in thriller

A fantastic last-minute point from Aimee Mackin denied Cavan a win after a pulsating clash against Armagh in freezing conditions at St Aidan's Park last Saturday.

The hosts were eight points up early in the second half after goals from Aisling Doonan – a superb right-footed finish to the corner – and Aisling Sheridan but they were overhauled before regaining and then losing the lead in a frenetic last couple of minutes.

Cavan were 0-10 to 1-5 ahead at half-time, with Doonan and Bronagh Sheridan on form up front. The Blues are now unbeaten in two games after a big away win against Laois on the opening day.

Cavan: Holly Lynch, Rachael Doonan, Laura Fitzpatrick, Joanne Moore, Sinéad McKenna, Sinéad Greene, Neasa Byrd, Sinéad O'Sullivan, Mona Sheridan, Andrea O'Reilly, Aisling Doonan, Ciara Finnegan, Cathriona Smith, Bronagh Sheridan, Aisling Sheridan
Subs: Beth Farrelly-McGee, Ailish Cornyn
