Cavan's Allianz League Division 2 round 3 clash against Meath, scheduled for 7pm this evening, was called off after heavy rainfall rendered the pitch at Kingspan Breffni unplayable.

The decision was made after a pitch inspection approximately 90 minutes before the scheduled throw-in time.

"Due to the torrential rainfall this evening, following a pitch inspection, the pitch in Kingspan Breffni has been deemed unplayable. Therefore this evenings Allianz Football League game between Cavan and Meath is postponed," stated Cavan county board.

While the game has been refixed for 2pm tomorrow (Sunday), subject to a pitch inspection at 9am, a source told The Anglo-Celt that the pitch is unlikely to have dried up in time.
