Rural rambles visits Arva

It was a crisp dry morning when snapper Adrian Donohoe and myself rolled into Arva town last Friday morning. We went for a quick patrol of the town and no sooner had we parked the wagon, than the local man of letters came striding down the street. Affable postman John Hurson out on his rounds. He's on Presidential duty. "It's worse than Christmas," he quipped. "I have to visit all 350 homes on my round with election literature and voting cards." "I have great banter with the people on the run each morning. People in rural areas in Cornafean love to see me with a letter." John says it is a very sociable type of job and he stops for the odd cup of tea. For more check out this week's Celt.
