Brady serves against Luis Moreno last week.

Brady jets off to LA

Fresh from his heroics at CityWest last week, world handball champion Paul Brady jetted off to Los Angeles this morning for the US Open, where he looks set for a rematch with top American Luis Moreno. The Cavanman - who was sent off for Mullahoran in their Ulster Club defeat to Errigal Chiarain on Sunday - admitted that his focus is in performing, and not the $10,000 first prize. "I just want to stay relaxed and get through it," he said. "Last week was tough, mentally and physically, and I'm sure Moreno will be on a high after winning the doubles but to be honest I'll be watching every player closely, others will be fresher than I am and any one of them could potentially take me out if I'm not fresh and playing well. "I just have to make sure I play well and stay focused," said Brady, who will be in action in the first round on Friday. Brady will start as favourite at Los Cabbaleros for what is effectively the fourth "Major" of the international handball season, with Moreno, Armagh's Charly Shanks and Texan Allan Garner - who missed out on the World Championships - among his chief dangers.
<a href="
