Sheridan and Farrell set to manage Cavan ladies

Paul Fitzpatrick Gerry Sheridan of Mullahoran and Cavan Gaels clubman Finian Farrell look set to be ratified as the new Cavan ladies joint-managers, The Anglo-Celt understands. Interviews took place early last week and it is believed that the pair will combine to take on the role for the 2013 season. Having reached the All Ireland final in 2011, losing to Westmeath by a point after a replay, Cavan suffered a number of defections this past season, with Gráinne McGlade, Gráinne Smith, Bríd Boylan and Pamela Crowe among several high-profile players to opt out. At least two of those are expected to make themselves available next season and with a number of talented young players from the Ulster-winning minor team ready to step up, Cavan's prospects of making an impact in the intermediate race look to have been bolstered considerably.
