Over €16m for Cavan's roads

Over €16.1m has been allocated to Cavan County Council for road improvement and maintenance under the 2013 National Roads Allocation. Fine Gael TD for Cavan and Monaghan, Deputy Joe O'Reilly, has welcomed the grants as announced by the Minister for Transport, Leo Varadker. "I am delighted to have been informed by Minister Varadker that €15,582,372 was allocated to nine roads throughout the County for general improvements and €520,073 was allocated to the Council for Winter and safety maintenance," said Deputy O'Reilly. The roads in question that are to benefit are as follows: National Primary Safety N3 Whitegate Cross- €73,000 N3 Drumahurk Cross- €55,000 Major Scheme Belturbet ByPass- €14,300,000 National Secondary Safety N87 Kilynaher (construction)- €45,000 N55 Corlurgan (construction)-€35,000 N55 Lacken Junction (construction)- €15,000 Pavement and Minor Works N55 Dundavan Mullaghoran Realignment Scheme- €320,000 Corduff to Ballytrust Realignment Scheme- €100,000 N55 Corduff to Killydoon €250,000 Local Authority Support (Improvement) 2013- €389,372
