The Strypes rocked Glastonbury at the weekend and are getting rave reviews ahead of their tour with Arctic Monkeys.

Strypes go stellar at Glastonbury

The Strypes are being hailed as 'the future of rock 'n' roll' after a blistering performance on the Glastonbury's John Peel tent on Saturday.

Cavan's finest were in good company with Smith's legend Johnny Marr, Villagers, Phoenix, Crystal Castles and Miles Kane also playing the stage.

Irish comedian Chris O'Dowd was quick praise the Cavan teens, who were one of 2,000 acts performing across 58 stages. 'The Rolling Stones were a solid 8, but The Strypes turned it up to 11,' he tweeted.

But O'Dowd, creator of TV's 'Moone Boy', wasn't the only one to sing the praises of the band, described by the BBC as 'well on their way to superstardom'. The glowing reviews follow the news that they've been invited to join the Arctic Monkeys on their upcoming UK and European tour.
