Investigation into Mountnugent farm fatality

An investigation in underway into the death of a farmer in Mountnugent.

Health and Safety Authority investigators were at the scene on Saturday night, where it is understood that the man, reportedly in his 50s, became trapped while
working with bales of hay at the farrm.

The Irish Independent reported that it is understood his wife went searching for him and alerted emergency services when he failed to return home.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and a post-mortem is due to take place tomorrow, Monday, July 15.
