Strypes to show footy-skills on SoccerAM

Cavan rockers The Strypes have exclusively revealed to the Celt that they will appear on popular sports show Soccer AM on Saturday August 31.
The good-humoured football based chatshow is renowned for featuring celebrity guests and the best indie musicians in a variety of sports challenges.
The Strypes’ single “Hometown Girls” will also be featured for the entire season as part of the show’s weekly ‘Forces’ slot. ‘Forces’ salutes the British men and women who are serving in the armed forces worldwide. Hometown Girls will be the song which plays behind the photographs sent in by members of the forces.
Strypes guitarist Josh McClorey is a self confessed football fanatic and told the Celt of his excitement about their upcoming appearance.
“It’s really exciting to be on the show. I watched it a lot when I was growing up and I’ve seen so many bands that I love on it, so it’s pretty surreal to be appearing as a guest on the show.”
Shortly after their appearance on Soccer AM the lads will jet into Ireland to prepare for their triumphant return to Electric Picnic. The Strypes are scheduled to play on Sunday, September 1.
Their new single, “What a Shame”, was premiered two week’s ago on Zane Lowe’s Radio One show as Lowe’s “hottest record in the world”, and follows their previous releases as a short, sharp blast of retro rock and roll. The track is taken from their upcoming debut album, Snapshot, which is due for release on September 9.
The rock and roll teenagers are set to join Arctic Monkeys on their tour of the UK in October and November.
The band are currently back working in London.
