Whereabouts new CD gets BBC airplay

New Cavan based rhythm and blues band ‘The Whereabouts’ hope to set of on their journey to stardom, or thereabouts, with the launch of their new EP in Kingscourt at the weekend.
The fourpiece put in a typically frenetic set to wow a packed crowd at Dun A Rí Hotel/McMahon’s Cafe Bar on Saturday, September 28, before signing copies of their debut CD titled “Twenty Thirty Three”. The release was recorded in early September and of the six tracks three are originals and thre remainder are rock ‘n’ roll classics.
Already, BBC Radio Ulster DJ Stuart Bailie gave one of the tracks airplay and commented that they are one to look out for.
The group are all aged 16-years-old and have recently been featured on Cavan TV’s The Green Room with Paul Cox, having also played at the Cafe Sessions at Chapter 1. They recently supported the renowned Pat McManus Band.
Next up for The Whereabouts is a gig at The Retro Club at Sweeney’s, Dublin on October 19, before returning home to Cavan to play The Virginia Pumpkin Festival on Sunday, October 27.
