'Works in Progress' opens this week at Trans Art Gallery

Edwin Lynch is a Cavan artist and Art tutor at Cavan Institute. His exhibition ‘Works in Progress’ opens at Trans Art Gallery on Friday, November 22.

This show at , 61 College Street, Cavan town, encompasses a selection of art work created over the past 15 years.

Lynch’s work represents a fusion of imagery inspired by personal reflection of past experiences, memories and dreams. Many of the artist’s paintings may take years to appear as finished pieces, being regarded as constant works in progress. Lynch’s paintings depict an abstract environment that form a tangible expression of memories, surroundings and place.

The installation pieces are created using a combination of taxidermic animals and collected objects of curiosity. Surrealist influences are apparent and solicit a notion of fantasy and dream recollection.
