Inchicup island bodies confirmed as missing men

Gardaí have confrimed that the bodies of two males discovered yesterday on an island in Lough Sheelin are those of the two missing Dublin men.
Gardaí in Kells this evening made the announcement that the bodies uncovered on Inchicup Island at approximately 4.30pm on Monday, May 26 have now been positively identified as the bodies of 32 year old Eoin O'Connor and 33 year old Anthony Keegan.
Since this is now a double murder investigation, for operational reasons the results of the post mortem will not be disclosed.

The news confirmed the expectations of the O'Connor family who, speaking to The Anglo-Celt this morning, said that they were relieved to have a degree of closure.
“We know this is it, we’re just happy for that,' Mr O’Connor’s older brother, Ruairi said.
'The biggest fear was we might never have found them. For our Ma and Da at least we can now bring him home. That’s the most important thing.'
He added that it's 'been hell' for Eoin’s partner, Karen, and their kids.
