Attention to detail...another Bailey's cow contender gets some special treatment ahead of today's Virginia Show.

The long wait is over the virginia show is on today

When friesians are having their hooves preened, regiments of ICA are out in force and there's a traffic jam on the Dublin Road it can only mean one thing - the Virginia Show is back.
Today will see the 73rd annual Virginia Show welcome thousands of exhibitors and visitors from the four corners of Ireland and beyond to the town, and of course its brand new purpose built Events Centre. It's a proud day for all the dedicated organising committee.
It's a day for everyone, the serious business of competing for over 470 classes in everything from limousin cows, to prize poultry to fabulous flower arrangements, alongside food markets, children’s amusements, trade stands, demonstrations and the hustle and bustle of a great day out. Other attractions this year are the Neven Maguire cooking demonstration in the Virginia College canteen, a sheep shearing demonstration in the enclosure, the dog agility show and fashion show. And that's all before the biggest event of the day - the Bailey's Champion Irish Cow. The champion cow parade takes place at 3.30pm and the presentation is at 3.30pm.
