Oaks lay roots down in caf session

By all accounts The Mighty Stef blew the roof off Chapter One at the last outing of The Café Sessions, it’s been described as a ‘you had to be there’ moment. So there’s no doubt the Blue Valentines team were left scratching their heads as to what to serve up for their next artistic offering, they’d need a powerful act to follow the Dublin rockers - they’ve come up trumps as they’ve snagged the fantastic local band Travis Oaks for this evening's gig.
The four-piece formed in 2013 when Aran McGillick, Killian McCourt and Taran Palouzane joined Mike Paterson who had invested his savings on a big electric guitar, and had begun to write blues and rock. In October 2014 the foursome released their debut, self titled, three-track EP.

Fresh from a hectic schedule of gigs and busking in Dublin they are raring to return to their old stomping ground. Travis Oaks have made huge strides since forming in 2013. They supported The Hot Sprockets at their album launch gig in the Button Factory last summer and were on The Strypes’ support bill in their hometown gigs.

Catch Travis Oaks at Café Sessions Chapter 1 on Thursday, April 23, 8pm with special guest Sean Ruane. Suggested donation €5 unwaged €3.
