€10K for Cavan-Monaghan Culture Night events

The Minister for Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs Heather Humphreys has announced funding of over €10,000 for Culture Night in Cavan and Monaghan.
“Towns and cities across the country are gearing up to celebrate Ireland’s annual cultural extravaganza, Culture Night, as it returns on Friday, September 16,” she said.
“From museums, galleries, libraries and theatres to cathedrals, parks and government buildings, venues right across the country will throw open their doors for free tours, workshops, readings, performances and demonstrations for all the family.
“I am delighted to allocate funding of €8,000 to Cavan County Council for Culture Night 2016. Cavan had an excellent Culture Night in 2015 and this funding will enable them to build on that success. Monaghan County Council are also getting involved this year and they have been granted funding of €2,250,” said the Fine Gael TD.
Having grown from 40,000 attendees to 350,000 nationwide in 10 years, Culture Night is now an all-island cultural movemen. It includes hundreds of participants from all genres including photographers, illustrators, designers, composers, visual artists, dancers, script-writers, singers and musicians.
