IDA still promoting its Cavan park

The Industrial Development Authority (IDA) is said to be “continuing to work to attract” companies to a Cavan site they attempted to sell four years ago, according to the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation.
In a written response to Cavan-Monaghan Fianna Fáil TD, Brendan Smith, Minister Mary Mitchell O’Connor said that there are currently seven multinational companies operating in the county, employing 1,165 staff. It represents a net increase of 37 jobs in the past four years.
However, the most recent figures from her department show there have been zero IDA sponsored site visits by potential foreign investors to the county in the first quarter of this year.
“The final decision of where to situate rests with the business itself,” emphasised Minister Mitchell O’Connor.
