Gardaí investigate road death in Meath

Gardaí in Dunboyne are investigating a two vehicle fatal road traffic collision between a car and a truck that occurred on the R147 at Pace, Dunboyne at approximately 12.55pm yesterday.
The 91 year old male driver and sole occupant of the car was seriously injured when his car collided with a truck. He was taken to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the truck was also taken to Connolly Hospital with minor injuries.
The road was closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and has since reopened.

Cyclist dies
Meanwhile the 13-year-old male cyclist seriously injured in a collision with a car on the N51, Slane Road, Drogheda on Saturday, August 21 has died as a result of his injuries. He died at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda last night.
