19 new jobs created and new Virginia Lidl store

Lidl has announced today the creation of 19 new jobs with the opening of a brand new store in Virginia, County Cavan. This announcement will see Lidl open its 148th Irish store and brings its total number of employees in the Republic of Ireland to over 4,200.

After 20 weeks of construction, the brand new 2,471 square metre store in Virginia opened at 8am on Thursday 1st December. 19 staff have been recruited from the locality to service the new store.

Speaking about the opening, Tom McAuliffe, Regional Director at Lidl Ireland, said:
“We are really excited to be opening our Lidl store in Virginia, County Cavan. We have some fantastic offers on over the next couple of weeks and are looking forward to welcoming customers to the store. We’re also delighted to be creating 19 new jobs for the locality, reinforcing our ongoing commitment to creating local employment and providing the Irish public with top quality products at the most competitive prices.”

Lidl is committed to working with its growing number of over 180 Irish suppliers to bring the best of fresh, local produce to its network of 148 stores throughout the Republic of Ireland. Lidl Ireland invests €500 million per annum in sourcing Irish goods and services.
