Parish mourns passing of popular priest

Crosserlough awoke on Sunday to discover the shocking news that their much loved parish priest, the Very Rev Fr Michael Quinn, had passed away.
The golden jubilee of Fr Quinn's ordination had recently passed, and the parish community had arranged to hold a party to mark the landmark on August 12. The Ballinamore native was much admired for his commitment to his parish and, despite having received from ill health, had an enormous workload.
His involvement in the community saw him take on the role of Crosserlough GAA vice-president, and regularly visit the parish's three school.

Fr Michael loved living in Crosserlough and always said he had great neighbours who I’m sure will really miss him.

The restoration of St Mary’s Church, a project in which he played a major role alongside his parishioners, stands as just one legacy to his time in Crosserlough.

Fr Michael will be reposing at the Parochial house, Crosserlough, tomorrow (Tuesday) from 4-8pm and on Wednesday from 2-5pm concluding with prayers at 5:30pm. His Removal will then take place to St Mary’s church, Crosserlough, to arrive at 8pm.
