Man due in court charged with assaulting Garda in Cootehill

A man in his 30s is due to appear at Trim District Court this morning (Tuesday), August 7, charged in relation to an assault on a Garda at Drumnaveil, Cootehill.

The alleged incident took place at about 12.30pm on August 6. The Garda member received injuries to his face in the incident.

It's understood that the Garda was responding to a public order street incident in a housing estate when the alleged incident occurred.
