Cavan Company secures £1.7m Scottish deal

Cavan-based civil engineering company Cleantech Civils has signing a £1.7m deal with Scottish Water during an Irish trade mission in Glasgow and Edinburgh in the last few days. Cleantech Civils are specialists in pipeline construction, mechanical and electrical installations, upgrading and maintenance for distribution and collection networks.

Managing Director, Killian Smith, and his team will oversee the upgrade of the water infrastructure at Glasgow Airport.

Commenting on the announcement Heather Humphreys, Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, outlined details of the deal: “The company will improve the security of the supply network into Paisley on behalf of Scottish Water and their delivery partners, the Caledonia Water Alliance.”

The Minister lead last week's mission: “I am absolutely delighted that this deal was signed on our biggest ever trade mission to Scotland, which was designed to strengthen business ties between our two countries. The 12-week programme of works is one of a number of projects that Cleantech Civils have secured across Scotland and Ireland.”

Minister Humphreys said such missions are of vital importance in the current fraught economic times: “Notwithstanding Brexit, there’s still are still lots of business opportunities for indigenous businesses in Scotland, and this deal is a testament to that. As Brexit negotiations progress, uncertainties remain for companies in both Ireland and Scotland and this has reinforced the need to strengthen dialogue at and interaction at company and Government level.”
