Cavan Christmas Dash takes place

The eighth annual Cavan Christmas Dash takes place St. Stephen’s Day – Wednesday, December 26, at The Farnham Arms Hotel, Main Street, Cavan.

Registration is available online at until 6pm Christmas eve, but participants can also register on the morning prior to the race from 10:30am until 11:50am.

The race will start at 12-noon sharp.

This year’s 5k run / walk is raising funds for two local charities, the Cavan Branch of the Parkinson’s Association of Ireland, and Drumlin House Training Centre.

Cavan Branch of the Parkinson’s Association of Ireland supports people and their families living with Parkinson’s Disease by providing information, organising outings/ events, inviting speakers to our events plus highlighting & lobbying for more services and nursing staff for County Cavan.

Drumlin House Training Centre was established in 1982 by a voluntary management committee as a not-for-profit service provider for people with intellectual disabilities. Currently a service is provided for 87 adults with intellectual disabilities across three programmes; Rehabilitative Training, Structured Occupational Services and a LINK Day Service Programme.

The annual Cavan Christmas Dash has been steadily supported each year with between 5-600 participants taking part.

To date, ten charities and groups have shared a total over €60,000 raised.
