O'Connor shortlisted for prestigious literary award

Cavan author Rebecca O'Connor has been short-listed for a prestigious literary award for her novel 'He is Mine and I Have No Other '.
The Cavan author tweeted that she is delighted to be amongst five female first time novelists who are in contention for the Kate O'Brien Award. 
The other shortlisted nominees are Eileen Battersby for Teethmarks on my Tongue; Caroline O’Donoghue, Promising Young Women; Dervla McTiernan, The Ruin; and Sue Rainsford, Follow me to Ground. 
Run in conjunction with the Limerick Literary Festival the Kate O'Brien Award was established in 2015 to celebrate new Irish writing by a female author.
Amongst the nine strong judging committee is Donal Ryan, who praised Rebecca's novel as: “Amazing, heartbreaking, brilliantly done”.
