Barry is Britain bound

One of the county's finest young traditional musicians, Barry Conaty, has been selected to to participate in the latest Comhaltas Tour of Britain.
Echoes of Erin is an annual tour featuring the best of traditional talent drawn from all four Provinces of Ireland and Britain. Each year the tour assembles a mix of established artistes together with up-and-coming young stars.
The first show of the tour takes place in Dublin on February 3, before the group jet off to Liverpool where they will commence their eight venue UK tour.
Martin Donohoe of Nyah Comhaltas branch commended the talented young musician on his selection: “Everyone in the group is delighted for him and extend their congratulate to Barry. Being selected to represent Cavan in The 2019 Comhaltas Tour of Britain is a great honour. Barry plays the flute, whistle and piano and will be performing in London, Liverpool, Manchester, Tyneside Leeds, Leamington Spa, Settle and Milton Keynes. We wish him well as he represents his native Cavan.”
