Gardai Investigate alleged suspicious approach

 

Gardai are understood to be attempting to trace the movements of a dark-coloured van believed to have been seen in the area where an alleged suspicious approach to a child occurred yesterday afternoon.

The incident is understood to have occurred at around 1pm on Tuesday, July 16 near Cootehill.

The Anglo-Celt understands that a male attempted to speak with a young child playing in their garden at the time.

Information concerning alleged approach was subsequently widely shared on social media, and gardai are aware of the incident.

A spokesperson confirmed: “Investigations are ongoing.”
