QIH staff march against attacks

Staff at Quinn Industrial Holdings (QIH) and locals outraged by the attack on Kevin Lunney and the ongoing campaign of intimidation against the local businesses have marched in protest today.

The event took place at 3pm today, across the road from the company headquarters between Ballyconnell, Co Cavan and Derrylin, Co Fermanagh.

QIH chief operating officer Mr Lunney was abducted from near his home earlier this week and subjected to a serious and savage beating before being dumped at the side of a road in rural Co Cavan.

The march see workers gather at the Quinn Quarry Office before making their way to the Quinn Building Products (QBP) Head Office where letter condemning the attacks will be delivered to assembled media. Senior staff will also be in attendance.

Its understood that a petition has also been signed by all staff within QIH in support of the statement being made, the crux of which is to ask that local communities come together in solidarity to support Mr Lunney and his family at this time, and demand that those behind the attacks are brought to justice.
