Diversions after crash on Cavan Bypass N3

Cavan Gardaí have issued a warning to motorists about road closures on the Cavan bypass N3, just outside Cavan Town.

The closure comes as a result of a three vehicle collision that occurred earlier this morning, close to where the overtaking lanes merge and near the Ballyhaise turn-off.

Fire crews and members of An Garda Siochana are currently at the scene. Ambulance services have also been called, however its understood that none of the persons involved in the accident have suffered serious injuries.

Diversions are in place both ways, via the Loreto Road and Latt to accommodate traffic flow disrupted by the collision.

A clean up operation is currently underway, with the road expected to be reopened by mid-afternoon at the latest, The Anglo-Celt understands.
