Gardaí to award young people making a difference

Nominations are being sought for the inaugural Garda Youth Awards, which were launched by members attached to the Cavan Monaghan Garda Division at the Tarpey SuperValu store at Dublin Road, Cavan, last Saturday.
Both the Gardaí and SuperValu, sponsors of the awards, recognise that a lot of good work is being done by young people in their communities.
Inspector Ken Coughlan, Monaghan Garda Station, says that the nomination process is open to everyone. So if you know a young person who is committed to making a difference to their community, please put their name forward, as every nominee will receive a certificate, even if they do not win an award.
