€100k cannabis seized in Rockcorry raid

A man was arrested this morning after Gardai seized €100,000 of suspected Cannabis at a house in the Rockcorry area of Co Monaghan.

At around 9am on Saturday, January 18, Detectives and Gardai from the Carrickmacross District, supported by members of the Armed Support Unit Northern Region, conducted a search operation at the residential property.

Inside they found an area described as having been ''fully adapted'' as a grow house.

Officers also discovered suspected Cannabis herb (pending analysis) with an estimated value of €100,000.

A man aged in his 20s was arrested at the scene.

He is currently being detained for questioning at Castleblayney Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

The property seized is meanwhile being forensically examined.
