Cavan PPN helping vulnerable amidst Covid-19 crisis
As part of the national framework response to the Covid19 crisis Cavan Public Participation Network (CavanPPN) is working closely with Cavan County Council to activate designated community groups in every area of the county.
The initiative is so to enable vulnerable persons in all communities to be supported.
To this end, Cavan PPN are compiling and sending information from and to the over 250 groups they have registered across the county.
CavanPPN have also negotiated with insurance company BHP to extend their insurance cover to the designated local groups who may not be insured and have allocated over 4000 euros of funding to provide any materials necessary for community groups to safely volunteer in their areas.
The CavanPPN Resource Worker, Daniel Downey said: “It is vital we activate, enabled and empowered community supports in every corner of our county so no person is left out of our net of care across Cavan.”
CavanPPN is working with Cavan County Council, Cavan County Local Development, Cavan Volunteer Centre and others under the Cavan Community Response Forum.
