Changeable weather for the remainder of the week

Today will be a bright day, with sunny spells, but scattered showers will develop.. Maximum temperatures 11 to 14 Celsius, in light variable breezes.

Tonight will be dry in most parts overnight, with clear spells and just a few isolated light showers. Minimum temperatures 3 to 6 Celsius, in light to moderate southeasterly breezes.

Met Éireann says that tomorrow (Wednesday) will be cloudy, with rain extending from the south in the afternoon, turning heavy in places, with a slight risk of thunder. Maximum temperatures 10 to 12 Celsius, in mostly moderate east to southeast winds, fresh or strong along the coast.

The national weather forecaster says that the weather will be changeable and unsettled for the rest of the week and throughout the weekend, with some rain or scattered showers, but good dry spells also. Temperatures will be around normal for early May, or a little below. Nights will be quite chilly.

On Wednesday night many areas will become dry, with clear spells, but there will be further outbreaks of rain in places most likely in southern and eastern coastal counties. In slackening winds, patches of mist and fog will develop. Min. 0 to 5 Celsius, with a slight grass frost in places.

The outlook for Thursday is good dry, bright spells, but some scattered showers will occur. Maximum temperatures 11 to 14 Celsius, in light to moderate northerly breezes, Mainly dry on Thursday night, with mist and fog patches forming in near calm conditions. Min. 0 to 4 Celsius.

Friday is predicted to be a bright day, with sunny spells, but scattered showers will develop during the day, some of them heavy, with a risk of thunder. Maximum temperatures 11 to 14 Celsius, in light west to northwest or variable breezes. Min. overnight temperatures 1 to 4 Celsius, with patches of mist and fog.

Current indications for Saturday suggest a mostly dry day, with a mix of cloud and sunny spells, but a few scattered showers are likely, especially in the north and northwest. Max. 12 to 15 Celsius, in light variable breezes. Mainly dry overnight with mist and fog patches and minimum temperatures of 0 to 4 Celsius.

Met Éireann says that Sunday will be mostly cloudy, with rain extending from the Atlantic, in freshening southeasterly winds.
