WATCH: Lisa's voice fills the National Concert Hall

Lisa O’Neill put in a mesmerising performance in her solo show at National Concert Hall last Friday – you should have been there! Sadly none of us could be there, but the generous people behind the ‘NCH Livestream Series: Reflections’ have donated to the online world a beautifully captured performance that’s still available to enjoy. It truly is worth grabbing a cuppa and streaming it on your telly, as the Ballyhaise folk singer is in fine form.

Faced with the surreal prospect of a completely empty National Concert Hall, Lisa comes into her own.

Literally. She conjures ghosts and birds as guests to her hour-plus live show, and populates her set with breath-taking performances, which include Fight Like Hell for the Living, a Tom Waits cover, Rock the Machine and Raglan Road.

Maybe it’s as well you weren’t at it, for Lisa’s extraordinary voice fills the cavernous venue to capacity, there’d have been no room for anyone else. She ends the show by paying a moving tribute to a cousin, Tommy Phillips from Carrick on Shannon, who passed away recently.
