The COVID-19 Stability Fund is a once-off cash injection for organisations and groups delivering critical front-line services that are in danger of imminent closure as a result of COVID-19.

Four groups in County Cavan will receive €102,501.

They include CAMCAS, Ballyconnell -Social services and supports to disadvantaged individuals and communities (€16,965); Cuan Cavan Cancer Support Group - Health and Well-being Services (€9,652); Killinkere Development Association - Education support for disadvantaged communities (€14,912); and Little Rays - Services for Older Persons (€60,972).

In neighbouring Co Monaghan, five groups in County Monaghan will receive €394,465.

They include Blackwater Valley Learning Centre - Services for Older Persons (€23,916); Crocus Cancer Support Centre - Health and Well-being Services (€25,885); Iontas - Social services and supports to disadvantaged individuals and communities (€142,847); Knockatallon Development Company Company - Services for Older Persons (€154,583); and The Down Syndrome Centre North East - Disability Services (€47,234).

Wecloming the announcement this afternoon, Heather Humphreys, Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, and Fine Gael TD for Cavan Monaghan, said: “Community and Voluntary organisations, along with Charities and Social Enterprises here in Monaghan and Cavan have gone above and beyond in their response to the challenges presented by this pandemic.

“They continued to carry out essential work while the restrictions stalled most activity locally. I would like to commend them for their wonderful work, and I am delighted that they Trojan efforts are being recognised through this funding.”

Pobal will contact successful applicants in the coming days to finalise contracts and facilities for payment of funding.
