The Housing Adaptation Grant for People with a Disability scheme provides grant aid to applicants to assist in the carrying out of works that are reasonably necessary for the purposes of rendering a house more suitable for the accommodation needs of a person with a disability.

By comparison, by the end of last year, Cavan County Council drew down €992,380.

In neighbouring Co Monaghan, the Council there has drawn down €987,867 as of May 31 last.

Last year Monaghan County Council drew down a total of €1,451,430.

Elsewhere in the region, Leitrim County Council has drawn down €69,855 so far in 2020, compared to €154,738 last year; in Longford €68,954 (€575,984); and Meath €427,130 (€2,000,215).
