Status Yellow Thunder warning for Cavan-Monaghan

The warning is valid from 11am today (August 10) until 8am on Tuesday, August 11, and also covers Leinster and Donegal.

National forecaster Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow Thunder warning for much of the region.

“Scattered thunderstorms today and tonight, with lightning, hail and a risk of localised flooding,” says the national weather service.

The warning is valid from 11am today (August 10) until 8am on Tuesday, August 11, and also covers Leinster and Donegal.

“Some places are likely to see severe thunderstorms through Monday afternoon and evening - but there is uncertainty in location and timing,” Met Éireann add.

There are warnings too north of the Border.

The warning there is for counties Antrim, Armagh, Fermanagh, Tyrone, and Derry.
