It is with regret that we note the deaths of the following people from Co Cavan in the past 24 hours as reported on RIP.ie

None were reported in County Monaghan.

Thomas (Thos) Galligan

Lisreagh, Cavan Town, Cavan

Thomas (Thos) Galligan, peacefully in Lisdarn Unit for the Elderly, Cavan. Sadly missed by his sisters-in-law Eileen Galligan (London) and Ann Galligan (Cavan), nieces and nephews, in Cavan, Monaghan and London.

Reposing in Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan on Thursday, September 17th, 6pm-8pm. Funeral Mass on Friday at 11am in St. Brigid's Church, Killygarry, Cavan with interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family home and funeral private to family, neighbours and close friends, please.

Anyone standing along the route are asked to observe social distancing guidelines. The family would like to thank everyone for their understanding at this time.

Harry Rowntree

Turners Hill, Kingscourt, Cavan

The death has occurred of Harry Rowntree, Turners Hill, Kingscourt, Co Cavan, peacefully at home, Tuesday, 15th September, 2020, in his 92nd year. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Victoria (Venie), sons Trevor, Maurice and Robert, daughters Anne and Gillian, their partners Linda, Eva, Gemma and Michael. Predeceased by his son-in-law Joe, Harry will be sadly missed by his sister Lillian, brother-in-law John, sisters-in-law Winnie, Lily and Pat, his adored grandchildren Owen, Hannah, Luke, Liam, Cian, Mark and his partner Pauline, Robert, Sarah, Mateo, Rachael, Amy and Isobel, great grandchildren Harry and Mia, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, cousins, his carers Mary C, Mary D, Geraldine and Linda and his wide circle of friends.

Safe in the arms of Jesus.

Due to government advice regarding public gatherings, a private Funeral Service and burial will take place for family on Friday, 18th September, in St Ernan's Church, Kingscourt, at 3pm. Harry's funeral cortège will leave his home and travel via Main St, to St Ernan's Church, Kingscourt, arriving at 3pm for private Funeral Service. Burial immediately afterwards in the adjoining graveyard. Family flowers only. Donations in lieu, if desired, to The Asthma Society of Ireland.

Peter Gerard Tracey

Aughaloughan, Ballyjamesduff, Cavan

(Peter) Gerard after a short illness at Cavan General Hospital and late of Primary Care Virginia. Predeceased his parents Peter and Anna. Sadly missed by his loving brothers Sean and Gabriel (Lurgan), sisters Jacinta Finnegan (Mountnugent), Pauline O' Reilly (Mullagh), Josephine Freehill (Ballyconnell), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, auntie Kathleen Boylan (Ballyjamesduff), nephews Alan, Finbar, Killian, Luke nieces Anita, cousins, God daughter Rosie, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Matthews Funeral Home, Virginia to family, relatives and close friends on Thursday evening 17th, from 5pm until 8pm. Funeral Mass in St Joseph's Church, Ballyjamesduff on Friday at 11am follow by burial in St Joseph's Cemetery.
