CULTURE NIGHT: The Time draws nigh

A new book, 'Time' featuring art created during the pandemic by Julie Corcoran visual artist and poet Fidel Hogan Walsh will be launched as part of Culture Night tonight.

The event is enjoying much publicity as Leitrim's living legend Charlie McGettigan has given the book his endorsement. The Eurovision winner describes its collection of poems and images as "thought provoking".

They even get a plug from fellow Bailieborian, Deputy Niamh Smyth in her tweet recommending everyone go out (or log on) to support the arts this Culture Night.

The launch takes place in Bailieborough Courthouse, but due to the pandemic restrictions, it is an online event only.

Fidel and Julie will also be joined by special musical guests, The Two Five Ones. You can watch the show live here at 7.15pm tonight, (Friday September 18):

The duo don't mind admitting to having made a meal of it. As at 6pm Iontas Arts will have a performance by Fidel of one of her poems on their facebook page as an appetiser. The main course will be on Cavan Arts YouTube channel - and above. For a delectable dessert they will feature in a special Culture night event at Enniskillen's Hambly & Hambly art gallery - 'Culture Night by Candlelight'.
