Alannah Fay

New Inns, Ballyjamesduff, Cavan

We are deeply saddened to announce that the death has occurred of Alannah Fay, New Inns, Ballyjamesduff, Co. Cavan. Our beautiful daughter Alannah Fay, aged 16 years, passed away on the 21st of September 2020. Deeply missed by her adoring parents Ivo and Gillian, sisters Keelin, Ríona and Aoibhinn; doting grandparents Pat & Susan Fay, and Patsy & Maureen Brennan, cousins, aunts, uncles and dear friends.

May her gentle soul rest in peace.

Martin’s wife Maura and all the family wish to express our sincere gratitude to all those who offered sympathy and support on the recent passing of Martin. A particular word of thanks to those who called to visit Martin, attended the funeral Mass, and to the friends and neighbours who stood along the route to the Church.

Thank you to all those who made phone calls, left messages of condolences online, sent Mass cards and sympathy cards and to those who joined the funeral Mass via webcam. Thank you to all our friends and neighbours who provided refreshments, and food, over a busy few days. Your kind gesture was a great support to all the family.

We would like to thank Fr Seán Maguire for the beautiful funeral mass which was said. We also wish to thank Fr Tom McKiernan, Fr Fintan McKiernan, and Fr Nigel Charles for their attendance at the funeral Mass, Tara the bell-ringer and Seán Donohoe for the beautiful singing.

Thank you to all the wonderful staff at the Mater, Cavan, and Monaghan general hospitals who took such good care of Martin. A special word of thanks to Dr Muredach Fergus for his care of Martin over the years. To Nurse Maria Cassidy and all the community nursing team and the staff in Belturbet Pharmacy, for their excellent support, care and attention. Thanks to all the home care team who took such great care of Martin. To the Cavan Palliative Care Team, whose attendance, support and kindness were deeply appreciated. Our sincere thanks to Brian Fee, the funeral director who carried out the funeral arrangements in such a dignified and supportive manner.

We are grateful to the gravediggers who prepared Martin’s final resting place and to all those who managed and assisted with traffic and parking including An Garda Síochána. Thanks to all those who made donations to Palliative Care. As it is impossible to thank everyone individually for their kindness and support throughout Martin's journey. Please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

Martin's Months Memory Mass will take place in St. Patrick’s Church, Kilnavart, on Saturday 26th September at 12pm.
