Dry day but more changeable weather on the way

A dry day is forecast for most areas today. Misty in places at first, with fog, gradually clearing during the morning, but sunny intervals will develop in most areas. Maximum temperatures 8 to 11 degrees, in light to moderate east to southeast breezes.

Mainly dry overnight, with clear spells possible at first, but cloud will thicken from the south, with patchy drizzle developing in places. Patches of mist and fog possible also. Cold, especially early in the night where clear spells occur, with minimum temperatures of 1 to 4 degrees, in mostly light easterly breezes.

Saturday will be mostly cloudy, with scattered patches of rain and drizzle developing, but good dry intervals also. Some areas may stay dry throughout the day. Maximum temperatures 11 to 13 degrees, in light to moderate easterly breezes.

Changeable weather for the rest of the weekend and next week. Mostly cloudy, with occasional rain and drizzle, but dry spells also. Mild.

Saturday night will be cloudy and misty, with outbreaks of rain and drizzle, persistent in places, with a few heavier bursts, mainly in parts of the south. Hill and coastal fog also. Minimum temperatures 6 to 12 degrees, coolest in Ulster. Light to moderate easterly breezes.

Sunday is promised cloudy, with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle, especially in the north and east during the morning, but dry intervals will develop in most areas during the day. Maximum temperatures 11 to 14 or 15 degrees, in light to moderate southeasterly breezes. A spell of persistent rain will develop in the southwest in the evening, extending northwards on Sunday night, but becoming patchy. Minimum overnight temperatures 9 to 12 degrees, in moderate southeasterly breezes, fresh on southern coasts.

Monday: Mostly overcast, with occasional rain, persistent at times, with a few heavier bursts. Mild, with maximum temperatures of 12 to 14 degrees, in mostly moderate southeasterly breezes.

It will be mild on Monday night, with further outbreaks of rain, but drier conditions will extend from the west.

Tuesday: Mainly dry, with a few bright spells, but predominantly cloudy, with the possibility of a little patchy light rain and drizzle. Mild, with maximum temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees, in mostly light to moderate southerly winds, freshening on west and southwest coasts.

Current indications for the rest of the week suggest that it will be changeable and unsettled, with occasional rain and with the risk of some heavy falls in west and southwest coastal areas. Good dry intervals also and milder than normal. Possibly windy around midweek, with fresh southeasterly winds, but lighter winds likely in the second half of the week.
