Garda alert after suspicious vehicle sightings
Up to half a dozen alerts have been issued since the start of December across Cavan and Monaghan concerned about the sightings of suspicious vehicles in various areas.
The most recent involved a 07-D black Ford with three males on board, sighted at 10pm on December 14, and at the weekend a grey Honda car 02-D acting suspiciously around Lough Mourne-Lough Egish area.
On the same day, December 11, a white Peugeot Partner Partial Registration OKZ was spotted at Dernashallog, Emyvale.
Gardaí are actively encourging people to deter opportunistic criminality in the run up to Chirstmas by ensuring their car or van is locked and windows are fully closed, that their homes are secure and well-lit, and say never leave valuables visible.
