John James Hamilton

Batterstown, Meath / Dundrum, Dublin / Cavan

Hamilton, John James (late of Batterstown, Meath and Dundrum, Dublin, and formerly of Aghacreevy, Ballyheelan, Cavan) 5th January 2021 peacefully at home after a short illness surrounded by his loving family. Beloved and loving husband of Hazel, much loved by his sons Charlie, Derek and Gary, daughters-in-law Carrie, Heather and Helen and his cherished grandchildren Robyn, Ben, Alex, Max, Lauren, James and Ellie. Predeceased by Mary and Freeman, he will be sadly missed by his sisters Betty and Pam, brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, relatives and friends.

The family wish to thank everyone for their kind support at this sad time. Due to current Covid restrictions, a private funeral will take place in line with government guidelines regarding public gatherings.

Maria (Mary) Smyth (née Olwill)

Brookfield Avenue, Maynooth, Kildare / Ballinagh, Cavan

Smyth (nee Olwill), Maria (Mary), Brookfield Avenue, Maynooth, Co. Kildare and late of Drumcrow, Ballinagh, Co. Cavan, January 4th 2021, peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Deeply regretted by her loving son Tomás, daughters Catherine and Eileen, son-in-law Paul, grandchildren Oisín, Maria, Ryan and Ella, brothers Michael, Gerry, Norby and John, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Patsy (Patrick) Marron

Ummerafree, Corduff, Carrickmacross, Monaghan

The death has occurred of Patsy (Patrick) Marron, Ummerafree, Corduff, Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, peacefully at his residence, Monday 4th January 2021 in his 98th year. Predeceased by his wife Josie and sisters Molly and Rosaleen. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving sons Gerry (Ummerafree), Denis (Chicago), Michael (Taghart North), daughters Margaret McCabe (Lisacullion), Mary Larkin (Tossey), Patricia Morrissey (Galway) and Bernie Ruth (Ummerafree), sister Margaret Traynor (Drumgurra), daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

In an effort to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and in respect of Government Level 5 Guidelines, there will be no public wake at Patsy’s home. We ask relatives, friends and neighbours to respect the families’ wishes.

Patsy’s funeral cortège will leave his residence on Wednesday 6th to arrive at St. Michael's Church, Corduff, for Requiem Mass at 12 noon, which will be celebrated privately in the presence of his family, in accordance with current guidelines. Burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.

Briege McGeeney (née Martin)

Lannett, Inniskeen, Monaghan / Dundalk, Louth

Late of Fatima Drive, Dundalk. Peacefully at home in the presence of her loving family. Beloved wife of Gerard and cherished mother of Ciaran, Geraldine, Eugene & Michael. Predeceased by her parents Maura and Paul, sisters Olive, Elaine and Majella. Briege will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her husband, children, their partners Ciara & Michéal, grandchildren Éabha & Thomas, best friends Joe, Cora & Kathleen, sisters Mary, Pauline, Marcia & Loretta, brothers Paul, Leo, Gerard & Anthony, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews extended family, neighbours, friends and by all who knew and cherished her.

The funeral cortege will leave Briege’s home, Lanett, Inniskeen on Friday morning at 10.15 a.m (via Fatima Park) arriving for funeral Mass at 11.00am in St. Joseph’s Church, Castletown followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery (Inniskeen).
