14 day Cavan Covid rate falls yet again

There were a total of 33 new cases confirmed in Cavan as of midnight January 22, 2021.

The 14-day incidence rate per 100,000 population in Cavan has remained under 1,000, as the number of new infections reported also continues to fall.

According to the latest statement from the National Public Health Emergency Team, the 14-day incidence rate per 100k in the county is 883.5, with 673 confirmed over that same period.

There were a total of 33 new cases confirmed as of midnight January 22, 2021.

The HPSC has been notified of 1,910 confirmed cases of COVID-19. There is now a total of 186,184* confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland.

Of the cases notified today, 887 are men and 1,016 are women, more than half (57%) of which are under 45 years of age. The median age of new infections is 40 years old.

The spread of cases includes 710 in Dublin, 150 in Cork, 103 in Meath, 102 in Limerick, 86 in Louth, and the remaining 759 cases are spread across all other counties.

Neighbouring Co Monaghan remains at the top of the chart of counties worst effected, however the figures there are also beginning to decrease.

Monaghan had 19 new cases confirmed as of last night, and now has a 14-day incidence rate per 100k of 1,787.1, with 1,097 cases confirmed in the county in the past two week period.

The 14-day incidence rate national average has also fallen below the 1,000 mark (955.5).
