Funding approved for St Bricin’s roof repair

Funds to progress repair work on the roof of St Bricin’s College Belturbet have been approved by the Department of Education. The ongoing issue should now be brought to a conclusion.

Last October the problems with the leaking roof at St Bricin’s College in Belturbet was highlighted at a CMETB board meeting by Councillor Brendan Fay (Ind).

Cllr Fay claimed money was allocated three times, but it appears to have slipped down the pecking order each time. He warned that the roof was close to falling down.

The Department approval was flagged by Deputy Brendan Smith who said: “I welcome the approval by my colleague Norma Foley TD of funding towards roof repairs at St. Bricin’s College Belturbet. I was glad to support this ETB application and the work of Members of the ETB and the Board of Management in progressing this application.”

Deputy Smith said that the funding approval will enable the work to be undertaken at an early date.
